101 Real Estate Dofollow Blogs

The Purpose And History Of Do Follow Blogs

Welcome to my Real Estate Dofollow Blogs post. Dofollow blogs are a push back on the overly buttoned up web we have had since several Google penalties for SEOs manipulating search rankings. Many webmasters have gotten very concerned about linking to other sites, and others have focused heavily on trying to keep every bit of page rank within their sites. Now that Page Rank is not nearly as important of a ranking factor as it once was and with webmasters trying to bring a more social aspect to their websites, many blog owners have joined the Dofollow movement.

To understand the reason for the new movement you must first understand what led to the creation of the Nofollow tag by Google. In the early years of blogs, Nofollow did not exist ,and spammers would go around and comment on blog posts providing little value to the web in an effort to increase their link totals. This was of benefit to spammers because one of the main components to search engine ranking algos is how many links they have going to a site from other sites on the web. Each link going to a website is considered a vote for that website in the eyes of search engines.

All of the links these spammers were gaining was helping poor quality pages have good rankings. As a result, Google introduced a tag that could be added to links that would tell the search engine spiders not to consider that link as a vote for the website it was linking to. This tag was then added to the comment section of all blogs, but many webmasters feel that there are some people that provide great value to their websites and they should be rewarded with a link. This view point gave birth to the Dofollow blog movement where a growing set of webmasters are allowing those who comment on their blogs and provide value to the conversation to receive a link that does not have the Nofollow tag, thereby giving a small amount of benefit to others’ sites when it comes to search engine rankings.

Dofollow Blog Commenting Etiquette

I have put together an industry specific list of blogs that allow for removal of the NoFollow attribute for those commenters who provide value to their blogs. It is highly important that when visiting these sites and commenting that you do not do so purely for receiving a link and that you only post comments on topics that you can provide something of value to the conversation. Another thing that many webmasters that provide DoFollow comments hate is when someone visits their blog and post just enough comments to their blog and then they disappear never to return again. This in many cases ends up being considered very rude, as another individual may respond to a comment made and then there is no returned reply which is defeating the purpose of the social aspect of one’s blog. So, please do not visit these sites and simply drop comments for the sake of gaining a link. Take part in the community, and you may just find you like it.

My Blog’s Commenting Policy

I enjoy the interactive nature of blogs and wish to encourage others to take part in conversations. I also feel that if someone takes the time to make a well thought out comment that provides something of interest that is related to the post that they should receive a link back to their site for their effort. My feelings on this have led me to make Houston homes for sale and all of my sites Dofollow. People that take the time to post comments on my blog will be rewarded with a Dofollow link pointing back to their sites after they have posted a minimum of 5 comments. I do not allow backlinks to sites that are known to take part in spam or entirely about non-family friendly topics.

  3. James Wheelock (17 comments) says:

@Steve – I have not decided whether or not to make the links clickable because I believe that if someone is to lazy to cut and paste the address into their browser they are likely the type that would not take the time to provide value to the blogs listed.

Great list, I’ve been gathering a more general listing of dofollow blogs I think it’s going to be a chore to keep things updated but I’m going to give it a shot. There are so many dofollow lists that are not kept up I think I’d feel guilty if I contributed to the clutter.
Dang Rabbit <- Fake name could you guess?

  16. Laguna Realtor (1 comments) says:

  17. Barry Lynn Miller (1 comments) says:

When building high pr site do you think a general real estate website is better or a real estate blog is better for your local business. That being said I have a Blogger one but find myself liking the structure of wordpress is one better than the other.

  18. James Wheelock (17 comments) says:

@Barry – I believe a self hosted site is a must. I also believe that it does not matter whether it is a blog or static website as long as the code is clean, Search Engine Friendly, and provides good content that others are willing to link to.

  19. Lisa In Cache Valley (1 comments) says:
