Briargrove Houses

Established in the 1950’s the Briargrove subdivision is one of Houston’s best kept secrets. With over 900 homes and a strong sense of community pride, Briargrove is the perfect place to live and work. Originally, when Briargrove was established, the homes were all ranch style, with the deed restrictions allowing only single story homes to be built, but in 1986, the restrictions were revamped and thus allowing one and one half as well as two-story homes to be constructed.

The Briargrove Neighborhood Continued

Since 1986, some of the older ranch style homes have been torn down and replaced with newer and more modern, larger homes. Today, even more new homes are being built and are available on the market.

Residents in Briargrove will enjoy the community center and pool that is open to all people that live in the subdivision as well as visitors that can purchase memberships to use the facilities. There are beautiful community parks as well as tennis courts, trails, and entertainment venues to ensure that there is always something to do in the Briargrove neighborhood.

As part of Greater Houston, the District 18 Patrol Division of the Houston Police Department protects residents of Briargrove. The fire protection is provided by the Station 2 of the Houston Fire Department and is located across from Tanglewood Park.

One of the more impressive features of this subdivision is the excellent education provided by the area’s Independent School District. There are currently two elementary schools, one middle, and one high school in Briargrove, but added to this list is the T.H. Rogers School. The T.H. Rogers school is dedicated to the advanced education of gifted and talented students, students with special needs, and deaf students. It has been touted as one of the finest institutes of learning for students of all types; with a variety of abilities.

Home sales in the Briarwood area have been remarkable with the market remaining steady. Median home values in this area are at $225,000 with over 30 home sale transfers since the beginning of 2009. There are a variety of availabilities in the area and new homebuilders as well as remodeling contractors to make your new home designed to fit your dreams.
